Lucilla Colonna's first feature narrates fifty years of Italian Renaissance through the eyes of the poetess Vittoria Colonna (1490-1547), great friend of Michelangelo Buonarroti. The movie was mainly shot in two of the ancient castles where the Colonna family lived near Rome, as well as in Fabriano, famous for having produced precious paper since the 13° century.
The main character is interpreted by Francesca Ceci, extraordinary similar to Vittoria Colonna, according to the portrait painted by Sebastiano Del Piombo.
