Un anziano, dopo molti anni passati a fare qualcosa in cui crede, comincia a dubitarne a causa di una situazione. “Dubito” racconta la storia di un uomo anziano le cui convinzioni, coltivate nel tempo, vengono improvvisamente messe in discussione da un evento imprevisto. Mentre il dubbio si insinua, l’uomo intraprende un viaggio di auto-riflessione, confrontandosi con la fragilità della verità e l’incertezza delle proprie convinzioni.

Danial Mahmoudnia, born on December 1993, in Deylaman, Iran, is an accomplished filmmaker and actor with over two decades of experience in the Iranian cinema industry. His journey began at the age of 12, when he debuted as an actor in the film *When All Were Asleep*, directed by Fereidoun Hassanpour. His performance was widely recognized, earning him multiple international awards and nominations, marking the beginning of his successful career in film and television Danial's acting portfolio includes significant roles in critically acclaimed films and TV series such as *Neshani* and *Sayeh Roshan*, both of which brought him additional recognition at prestigious festivals, including the Fajr Film Festival and Kazan Film Festival. His commitment to his craft and his ability to portray complex characters have established him as a well-respected actor in the Iranian film industry.
In 2013, Danial transitioned into directing,starting his career behind the camera as an assistant director. He made a notable impact in this role on the acclaimed historical TV series *Gozar Az Ranjha*. His skills as an assistant director further shone through in his work on *Armando* (directed by Ehsan Abdipour) and *Banouye Sardar* (directed by Parviz Sheikhtadi), both of which were well-received by audiences and critics alike. Danial’s expertise as an assistant director culminated in his role as the first assistant director for *Zalava* (2021), a film that went on to win prestigious accolades at the Venice Film Festival, and *Rohan*, which took home the top prize at the Moscow Film Festival. He also contributed to the success of *Fathers* (2020) and *Nardoon* (2016), further solidifying his reputation as a talented behind-the-scenes professional. His passion for storytelling eventually led him to pursue directing,and his directorial debut came with the short film *Paper God*. The film was a major success, screening at over 45 international festivals and winning numerous awards, including at the Alicante Film Festival, Doku Fest, Mena Film Festival, ISFA Film Awards, and the Kia Rostami Film Festival. The film’s success marked Danial as a rising talent in the world of filmmaking. Danial’s second short film,*Dubito*,has already made waves in the festival circuit. It was selected for the Tehran International Film Festival, where it received nominations in three categories: Best Editing, Best Screenplay, and Best Film. The film went on to win the Best Jury Award at the festival. Additionally, *Dubito* has been selected for the prestigious Fajr International Film Festival, further solidifying Danial’s growing influence in the international film scene. His work, both in front of and behind the camera, continues to inspire and captivate, and he remains one of Iran’s most exciting young filmmakers to watch.
