Plot
THE NIGHT OF an HBO mini-series of 8 episodes tells the story of Nasir 'Naz' Khan (played by Riz Ahmed), a pakistani university student who lives with his parents in New York. One night, Nasir drives his father's cab without permission to go to a party, giving a ride to a young woman, Andrea, who thinks Nasir is a real cab driver. After spending the night together making sex and doing drugs Nasir wakes up the day after in Andrea's apartment, finding the girl stabbed to death and without any memory of what has happened the night before. Because of the recovery of the murder weapon and of some witnesses, Nasir is charged with the murder of Andrea. To prove is innocence, Nasir entrusts his defense to Jack Stone (played by John Turturro), a disgraced lawyer.
