In this website you will find our history, our projects and all the useful information to participate personally in the 8th edition of the Festival that will be held in Ischia from 4th to 10th of June 2010.
Also in this edition we aim at exploring the territorial and cultural sceneries that have an impact on the film story, likewise the countless potentialities of a phenomenon such as the “cinetourism” and the synergy among the persons, who are actively involved in the pre-production, production and commercialization of the audiovisual product.
We will also focus on the advantages of the product placement that, used in a skilful and mediated by the wise eye of the author, are a key resource for the support itself of the film work.

During the last edition we showed over 70 films coming from over 20 different countries, among which 19 previews, ranging over independent cinema and big-number productions with the same conviction. We described the locations through the stories, we discovered and documented landscapes, lifestyles, past and present traditions. We organized conferences, workshops, meetings with the authors and the protagonists of the national and international cinematography always offering important occasions of debate, interest and discovery.

We are committed to develop these occasions also in the 8th edition and in the following ones of the Festival, hoping that you will always follow us as keen guests and supporters.

Although the reached results, that are listed in this website and in the yearly anniversary, massive press reviews, the Cinema General Direction of the Ministry for Arts and Culture decided that the Ischia Film Festival cannot be financed only with a contribution that is usually allocated to other cultural initiatives for the following reason: “for the presence in the same territory of a similar initiative and the presence of elements aiming at the territory promotion”.

Throughout all these years the Festival has been able to live autonomously, even if with difficulties, also thanks to the support of the local authorities and its sponsors, acquiring more and more importance in the international cinematographic scenery as an initiative characterized by interesting contents that has given visibility to works, authors and issues that otherwise would have not found any space in those initiatives, which are publicly funded mere cinematographic showcases
We are extremely proud of the above-mentioned results and this is also the incentive to work hard and with passion also in the future.
