When we talk about Cinema, first of all we’ve got to think about the films. In this case, we’re talking about 600 films; many are the works that are evaluated by the selection committee. The Festival is characterized by five sections: Contest, Leading, Scenarios of Campania, Denied location and Special Screenings. Like every year, the amazing Aragonese Castle will host the festival; for the occasion, the backyards, the terraces and the churches of the Caste turn into a citadel of cinema, unique in the World.

Moreover, what better way to represent the festival. The Ischia Film Festival was born to enchance the locations where the stories are being narrated. And the Castle, with all its stories and secrets, is a special location for the festival. This year there will be a beautiful retrospective of Pasquale Squitieri, a great filmmaker of Italian Cinema. In 2015, the Ischia Film Festival honored him with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

And speaking about masters of European Cinema, this year the Ischia Film Festival will host Krzysztof Zanussi, a great polish filmmaker, that will be the President of this edition 2017. Well, the Festival has an interesting programme, full of news and surprises.
