Ischia a Salisburgo per parlare di CineturismoIn the beautiful city of Mozart, Salzuburg, on Wednsday the 9th of November, Ischia Film Festival director will talk about his Island during the international convention on “Film&Tourism”, concerning the new phenomenon of cinema tourism. The pioneer and the person who forged this neologism, Michelangelo Messina, will give an in-depth talk about a comparison among different cultures, in order to analyze the worldwide tendency of cinema market linked to tourism industry. That would be “a great date” - said director Messina - “and also, it will be an amazing chance to compare ourselves to European colleagues, in order to monitor the constant increase of the phenomenon and the related interest by the local and European government, engaged in the promotion of the territory through cinema matters”, also add director Messina. Salzburg got used to such phenomenon and in fact, it is to be considered the pilot city of tourism linked to cinema. Nowadays, after 50 years from the movie “The Sound of Music” (1965), more than 300.000 tourists are still attracted and visit the city every year only to experience the streets and places of that movie. Director Messina will argue the relation between Cinema and Territory in Italy, starting from the birth of the neologism  “Cineturismo” (tourism based on cinema movies) in 2003 to present. Among the lecturers there will be: Moyra C. Lock, from Northern Ireland Screen and Judith Webb from Northern Ireland Tourism Board who both will show the success of the Tv Series “Game of Thrones”, Stephan Herzl, director of Salzburg Panorama Tours for “The Sound of Music”, Simone Zehnpfennig, Head of Communication, Product Management and Culture of Allgäu, Lukas Krösslhuber, Tourism Manager, Wilder Kaiser and Josef Gottschall, Head of Public Relations at Wien Canal. The event is organised by the Austrian Film Commission and Austrian Culture department.
