[Ischia, June 30th, 2015] From June 27th, in collaboration with the XIII edition of Ischia Film Festival, a beautiful photographic exhibition dedicated to Christopher Moloney’s photos is held within the spaces offered by the Marina 10 Hotel at Casamicciola Terme.
Moloney is a canadian writer and photographer, mostly known for his photographical project named “FILMography”, that made him one of the most important artists of our time.
His photos appeared in magazines and papers all around the world, for example on Rolling Stone, Vogue, Vanity Fair and Esquire. Cannes and Toronto Film Festival has shown his works and they are currently taking part exhibition in homes and galleries in Canada, Britain, France, Germany, Australia, Russia, Italy, Japan, Norway, Brazil and the United States.
The originality and brilliance of Moloney’s artistic work is due to his extraordinary ability to reconnect perfectly scenes from films to their respective locations.
He takes in consideration a frame from a classic or cult film, printing the image and then shooting a new live photo from the exact angulation from which that scene has been shot.
At the end everything matches perfectly. The photographer recreated scenes of several films set in New York, Los Angeles, Roma, Napoli and Ischia.
Between all the films shot in Ischia, stand out his photos of the wonderful locations of The Talented Mr. Ripley (1988) with Matt Damon, Cleopatra (1963) with the iconic Elizabeth Taylor and Avanti! (1972) directed by Billy Wilder.
His works on Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961) and Avengers (2012), both shot in Manhattan, are two of the most known and appreciated.
