On the Tyrrhenian volcanic island, “Inarime” for Virgilio, near the ramparts of the Aragonese Castle, this year, one again, for arthouse films it’s screening time.
[Ischia, June 27th 2015] Full of expectation the opening night of the 13th edition of Ischia Film Festival. As usual, the festival opening up the doors of the marvelous Aragonese Castel offer the opportunity to their attentive and steady viewers of enjoying the great program by the Artistic director Michelangelo Messina in the marvelous set of one of the most beautiful location of the Island.
Central event of the evening the Heart Of Lightness screening, amazing movie inspired by Henrik Ibsen theater, opening the usual focus on the North European cinema production, - in collaboration with the “Nordische Filmtage Lü beck” – bringing again in Italy unmissable premieres and international guests. An important event remarked also by Lübeck Linde Fröhlich, the festival director, here in Ischia. Attending the screening also the director and productor Jan Vardøen, who claim to be thrilled of seeing his works screening for the first time in Italy, island where the great Norwegian playwriting stayed in 1867. Together with the director also Micheal Taverna, US productor and responsible for the film distribution, arrived yesterday from Los Angeles for this special occasion.
Great absentee of the evening Carolina Crescentini, prevented from participating due to work commitments on Lampedusa sets. The actress didn’t left her festival fans alone, she send them a video message introducing the screening of Tempo instabile con probabili schiarite the Marco Pontecorco film, opening this evening the Close Up selection at the Assunta Cathedral.
A lot of important moments this year, making the Ischia Film Festival public traveling all around the world, with the usual attention to locations, main theme of the Ischia event, unique in Italy and in the world. The Denied Location section will be open this year by a work telling Napoli and Scampia territory, and also the conflicts between crime and government: Gomorraland . The film , directed by Duccio Giorndano, is the perfect opening for the contest, concerning exactly works about overlooked places. The director, this evening, will introduce the international premiere, together with the Catello Maresca member of a group of antimafia magistrates, who arrested Michele Zagaria and who is also the author of the book “L’ultimo Bunker”.
Hightly reccomended also A Taxi with a View (LINK) di Barbara Nava (present during the festival), a documentary shot from the passenger compartment around natural and human territories of Jerusalem and Palestine. Present also Antonio Spanò, already winner of the 12th edition of the Ischia Film Festival with “The Silent Chaos”. This year the director will introduce “Animal Park” screening this evening at the Casa del Sole, a film showing the tragic Democratic Republic of the Congo situation.
