After 9 David of Donatello awards, the price for the Best Director of the year is coming to the Ischia Film Festival.
[Ischia, 15/06/2015] Is to the awards-winning author at the David of Donatello (9 awards including the significant set: Best Film, scenario and direction) that the Ischia Festival give the Ischia Film Award 2015 for the best director of the year. The award, previously awarded to great professional belonging to the world of cinema such as the French directo Benoit Jacquot and to the Oscar winner Billier August, will be present during the thirteenth edition of the Ischia Film Festival next June 29th, taking place in the enchanting cathedral of the Aragonese Castel, special location of the festival.
"It is my great pleasure" - claimed the festival director Michelangelo Messina - "to present this award to Francesco Munzi, a director we have already meet and who has already win the Ischia Film Festival in 2005 with his work Saimir, awarded as the best italian short film". Anime nere, a passionate noir film set in Africo, in the deepest Calabria, talks about the history of two brothers members of the 'ndrangheta. It will be screening during the festival just after the open meeting with the director.
"We welcome" - said Messina " - "also the David of Donatello winner for the category best short film, the director Giuseppe Marco Albano, who will be in Ischia the same evening of Munzi with his work Thriller selected for the competitive section of short films".
The International Ischia Film Festival will take place from June, 27th to July 4th 2015 in the enchanting Aragonese Castel of Ischia. Under the hight patronage of the European Parliament, the festival is sponsored by the General Cinema Direction of MiBACT and backed by the Campania Region.
