Ischia Film Festival 2014
From June 28th to July 5th, 2014, at the Aragonese Castle of Ischia, will be the twelfth edition of the Ischia Film Festival, the only international competition dedicated to film locations that gives recognition to the artistic audiovisual works, directors, directors of photography and set designers who most valued Italian and international locations highlighting the landscapes and cultural identity.
Conceived and directed by Michelangelo Messina, the festival is made with the high patronage of the European Parliament, the support of the President of the Republic Giorgio Napolitano and with the support of Ministry of Culture Film Board and the Campania Region, Department of Culture.
Every evening from 21.00 outdoor screenings, giveaways and meetings with international guests. Eight days full of features, documentaries and short films from over 30 different countries around the world. 107 selected works including 7 world premieres and 28 national premieres. Works that enhance and promote the traditions, the historical reality, landscapes and peculiarities of those territories that were chosen for the film narrative or documentary. To enrich the evenings meetings with directors and actors for "Talking about movie" under the stars in the beautiful historical context \ landscape of the Aragonese Castle. Among the characters that will be attended by Oscar-winning director Bille August, the Italian director Pupi Avati (President of issue), one of the leading exponents of Israeli cinema, the director Amos Gitai, the actor Mattia Sbragia that the festival will present his first work as a director , directors, Hugh Gregory, Davide Ferrario, Alessandro Rossetto, Fabio Mollo, Edoardo Winspeare, Angelo Longoni. American actor Sean Kanan, famous for his portrayal of Dicon in note series Beautiful.
The jury that will decide the winners of this edition includes director of photography Arnaldo Catinari, the documentary filmmaker Roland Sejko, actor John Esposito and French-born designer Jean Manuel Martinez.
During the festival there is also a section of the market with the 'International Exchange of Location and Film Tourism', a meeting between the world of cinema and that of tourism and the 'International Conference on Cinetourism', which will be attended by the highest representatives of the world of cinema-related marketing planning. To complete the full program the photographic exhibition 'pensions and vacation in the Italian cinema (1949 - 2011) by Antonio Maraldi.
To participate to the festival you need to buy a cultural accredit at the Festival Info Point that will be set up at Piazzale Aragonese from June, 26th onwards.
