[Ischia May, 22nd , 2014] Pupi Avati will be the chairman of the next edition of the festival dedicated to the location, conceived and directed by Michelangelo Messina. Awarded on the island of Ischia in 2011 with the career coral Ciak , the Bolognese director will return, with his brother Antonio Avati, to preside over the green island the twelfth edition of the film festival, which this year is rich of works in competition and international guests.
On the set of his latest film Avati will have a short break to take part at the event that this year will start on June,28th and will end on July,5th in the picturesque open spaces of the Aragonese Castle, venue granted exclusively for 'Ischia Film Festival.
Pupi Avati author of more than forty films, is one of the greatest Italian filmmakers.
Director, screenwriter and film producer, is also a writer of novels that often inspire the scripts of the movie or vice versa as: "La via degli angeli" (2000), "I cavalieri che fecero impresa" (2000), Ma quando arrivano le ragazze?” (2005), “La seconda notte di nozze” (2006) e “Il papà di Giovanna” (2008). Among his most recent work "Il ragazzo d’oro" starring the American actress Sharon Stone and the Italian actor Riccardo Scamarcio.
