Ischia Award to Benoît Jacquot

 On June, 29th the French director will open the XI edition of Ischia Film Festival with his last film


[Ischia, May, 30th 2013] Benoît Jacquot will open the eleventh edition of the Ischia Film Festival with the projection of his last film “Les adieux à la reine” played by the german actress Diane Kruger as Queen Maria Antonietta and, on that occasion she will withdraw the Ischia Award 2013 assigned by the film commission.

Michelangelo Messina says: “Another homage to France and to its actors. We are proud of rewarding Benoît Jacquot, who, on this Island in 2009, located one of his film “Villa Amalia” starring Isabelle Huper. An homage also to the seminary hold by the critic Vittorio Giacci, about Neorealism, Nouvelle Vague, the coproduction and the one hundred year of cinematographic italian- french collaboration”.

The director will present his film in the baroque cathedral, at Castello Aragonese, during the opening gala.

The Ischia Film Festival (June, 29th – July, 6th ) is powerd by  the Presidente della Repubblica,  supported by Regione Campania- “La cultura come risorsa” and by MiBAC - Direzione Generale Cinema, with the sponsorship of  Comune d’Ischia.
