BARI - 27 APRIL 2012 -
The national assembly of the Italian Film Commissions, headed by Silvio Maselli (president), Anna Olivucci and Davide Bracco (vice presidents) and Roberto Corciulo (general secretary) received proposals from the committee and deliberated on some new resolutions to help promote locations and, above all, support the growth of the Italian film industry. This has been done to catch the attention of foreign film producers and improve the quality of the services.
The Film Commissions approved 5 protocols to be signed together with the Cinema General Direction of Mibac, Cinecittà Luce, Anica, the association of television producers (APT) and the association of executive producers (APE). This was done to enable the recognition of the Italian film industry by supporting local audiovisual productions. The protocols also aim to preserve communication between local and national authorities for supporting the audiovisual sector.
IFC also approved an internal training programme called FC Training, aimed at the 19 Film Commission team. The training will take place in November in order to improve the quality of the services and the efficiency of the local authorities as regards audiovisual productions. IFC will also make use of a website in order to disseminate information about resources and the treasures of Italian territories, which are full of stories and potential.
In the course of the next Ischia Film Festival, Italian Film Commissions will award the film that best placed the location in the limelight. The award will consist of a three-day tour for three people, consisting of the winning production team or the director, in any location represented by the 19 annual affiliated film commissions.
