Between IX and XX century Turkish persecuted Kurdish of religion Yazida seen as devil worshippers. Some Yazidi communities ran away easterly and arrived in Armenia where even now they live and are trying to preserve their traditions. Yazidi actually worship the Sun and believe in Peacock angel. Survived for 70 years to soviet communism, today they are dealing with humble rural life, poverty, low schooling and young migration. However cultural and religious identity resists, in fact it has built the second world’s biggest Yazida temple in Armenia.
